Lima-Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership (LACNIP), a unique grassroots, volunteer organization that is a partnership of 17 neighborhood associations representing thousands of residents in Lima and Allen County.

LACNIP has been recognized as the Outstanding Non-Profit of the Year (2002) by the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce, has 15 successful years of neighborhood and community work, and in 2006 was awarded the National Take Pride in America Award in the local government programs category. LACNIP has IRS 501(c)(3) status and is poised to become a self-sustaining, free-standing non-profit community development corporation - an important force for neighborhood and community change in Lima and Allen County.

LACNIP promotes revitalization of distressed neighborhoods and improved quality of life through the efforts of neighborhood associations and their volunteer members living in the neighborhoods.

The majority of LACNIP’s efforts are within the City of Lima, primarily in the low and moderate census tracts in the north, central and southern neighborhoods of Lima. Mayor David Berger and Lima’s Department of Community Development Director Amy Sackman-Odum have expressed their support of LACNIP’s growth and development. They see LACNIP’s efforts throughout the community as an important part of Lima’s growth and development.
